Cagayan State University Solana-Lara Campus is dedicated to the University's vision of "Transforming lives by educating for the best." This commitment extends beyond the four corners of the classroom, as the campus actively engages with local communities through innovative research, development, and extension activities. In pursuit of this vision and to create a lasting positive impact, the campus has recently undertaken significant initiatives to strengthen its community linkages.
On August 30, 2024, Cagayan State University-Solana Lara Campus, under the leadership of the visionary Campus Executive Officer, Engr. Ma. Haidee A. Mabborang, along with other campus officials and through the initiative of the University Extension Director Dr. Josie Y. Bas-ong, held a productive courtesy call with Honorable Jennalyn P. Carag at the LGU Solana Mayor's Office. This meeting was an important step in discussing the campus' plans to strengthen its partnership with local stakeholders through various extension activities. Hon. Carag reaffirmed her commitment to supporting these initiatives, setting the stage for enhanced collaboration and deeper community engagement.
Following the courtesy call, a Focus Group Discussion was conducted at the campus library by the University Extension Director, Campus Extension Coordinator along with faculty and staff, and barangay officials from Iraga, and Bauan West. This significant dialogue aimed to gather baseline data on the community's issues, needs, and challenges. This initial step is crucial for developing effective Research, Development, and Extension projects aimed at addressing these concerns and promoting community development.
Through these collaborative efforts, CSU Solana-Lara Campus and its partners are committed to driving positive change and making a substantial impact on the community.
