CSU OIC-President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mariden Ventura Cauilan, and other university officials visited the campus today for the university orientation of new students. They were joined in by 3rd District Representative Cong. Joseph Lara with his wife, Dr. Zarah Lara, and Board Member, Hon. Leonides Fausto.
CSU Solana-Lara Campus Executive Officer, Engr. Ma. Haidee A. Mabborang, delivered a heartfelt welcome address to the 459 freshmen students. She congratulated them on completing their first two weeks at CSU and emphasized the importance of perseverance, encouraging them to stay focused until they cross the finish line at graduation. In her words, "Kumusta ka?" she reached out to connect with the students and encouraged them to remain committed to their academic journey.
Following this, Ms. Vicenta Maguddayao, Campus Academic Coordinator introduced campus officials of CSU Solana-Lara, highlighting their commitment to student success.
Meanwhile, Dr. Zarah Lara, in her speech, announced the exciting plans for CSU which includes the construction of a new campus building for CSU Baggao next year. On the other hand, Cong. Lara took the stage to share updates on upcoming projects, including the ongoing construction of the first academic building on the campus equipped with an elevator, making it a pioneering development among all CSU campuses. He also announced plans for a state-of-the-art library. Additionally, he expressed his deep gratitude for the unwavering support of the CSU family and the Board of Regents, who made these projects possible.
Dr. Ibañez wrapped up the program by expressing his sincere appreciation for the strong partnership between Cong. Lara and the university. He acknowledged that the significant accomplishments in infrastructure and facilities were largely due to Cong. Lara’s commitment to public service and the university's development.
As the program drew to a close, Ms. Aileen Gannaban, Campus Guidance Counselor engaged the students with an interactive game to test their attentiveness to the speeches, with prizes awarded to the winners.
